I am so lucky to be an entertainer in a country that allows its citizens to say just about anything whether those words are designed to sway, to educate, to endear, to grumble, or simply to induce laughter.
I wanted to take just a minute on this holiday weekend to express how great it is to be a part of the imperfect country, that imperfectly runs better than any other country I’ve visited. Yes, I’m a little nationalistic today, but if you can’t be a little “we’re great, and not only that we’re pretty fantastic too, and beyond that we’re a little redundant on being super” on our nation’s birthday…well, when can you be?
I meet a lot of people in my line of work and many of them think like I do:
• Yes, we can improve (duh!),
• Yes, we are trying to improve, and
• Yes, we will improve!
I’d rather live in our wonderful work-in-progress than anywhere else on earth. Happy Birthday America, and all those that are part of her…umm…him/it/them/us!
