2019! I like the optimism of making new year’s resolutions—a promise to yourself to make positive changes in the next twelve months. The start of the year is a great time to do a bit of personal accounting to tally up what we have, what is still to be gained, and what we can do to help others.
On January first, I look forward to other firsts. The first writing session (of many). That first new joke! The first show. These can set the tone for 2019. My first show of 2019 was aboard the beautiful Coral Princess with passengers who were happy to start their year with laughter.
One of my resolutions is plug my shows a bit more. Here’s a few upcoming dates!
• January 16: Private event in Palm Springs
• January 25: Charles Krug Winery Napa
• January 26: Flamingo Resort Sonoma
Performing in Santa Rosa is always extra-fun because I often know people in the audience—from high school! I plan to have video shot for YouTube.

While 2018 is now history, I want to salute two friends who continue to deserve support and encouragement into the new year.
My high school buddy Michael Steel is fighting cancer—not a challenge you’d wish on anyone. Keep fighting, my friend.
Comedian Lisa Alvarado is working hard (and raising money) to produced a documentary about a man with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) who, with the help of Lisa and other comedians, fulfilled his lifelong dream of doing stand-up comedy—from his wheelchair. Read the full story.
